“Think and grow rich” is not only a book of getting rich but also a book of personal development and self-realization. The author, Napoleon Hill invested his whole life in writing this book. He shares fifteen pillars of self-mastery and getting rich.

The first and foremost thing from which any discovery and miracle happen is someone’s thought. Thoughts are things. When a man really desires a thing so deeply that he is willing to stake his entire future on a single turn of the wheel in order to get it, he is sure to win. Desire is the first step towards any achievement.

Lincoln dreamed of freedom for the black slaves, put his dream onto action, and barely missed living to see a united North and south translate his dream into reality. A burning desire forces a man to make the impossible. A burning desire to be, and to do is the starting point from which the dreamer must take off.

Nothing is impossible to the person who backs DESIRE with the enduring FAITH. Have faith in yourself, have faith in the infinite intelligence. Faith is the basics of all miracles and all mysteries which cannot be analyzed by the rules of science. Faith removes limitations.

Faith is the element that determines the action of your Subconscious mind. Your Subconscious mind recognizes and acts upon only thoughts which have been well mixed with emotion or feeling. Only emotionalized thoughts have any action influence upon the subconscious mind. It is the connecting link between the finite mind of a man and infinite intelligence.

Without education and specialized knowledge, all become fade. Knowledge is potential power. It becomes power when it is organized into definite plans of action and directed to a definite end. Knowledge will not attract money unless it is well organized and intelligently directed. The way of success is the way of continuous pursuit of knowledge.

Formation of a definite, practical plan is the way through which any transformation may be made. If the first plan which you adopt does not work successfully, replace it with a new plan. No man is ever whipped until he quits in his own mind. Thomas A. Edison failed ten thousand times before he perfected the incandescent electric light bulb.

Persistence is an essential factor in the procedure of transmuting DESIRE into its monetary equivalent. The basis of persistence is the POWER OF WILL. Lack of persistence is the major cause of failure. It is a weakness that may be overcome by effort. The ease with which a lack of persistence may be conquered will depend upon the Intensity of one’s Desire.

Riches do not respond to wishes. They respond only to definite plans, backed by definite desires, through constant Persistence. One of the most common causes of failure is the habit of quitting when one is overtaken by temporary defeat.

The journey is not easy. It begins with study, analysis, and understanding of three enemies which you have to clear out. These are Indecision, Doubt, and Fear. Indecision is the seedling of fear. Indecision crystallizes into Doubt. Fears are nothing more than states of mind. One’s state of mind is subject to control and direction. Use this knowledge to your advantage.

“Man’s thought impulses begin immediately to translate themselves into their physical equivalent, whether those thoughts are voluntary or involuntary.”

DESIRE + IDEAS + PLANS + RIGHT ACTION + PERSISTENCE = SUCCESS
